Gian Franco Terenzi born in the Republic of San Marino.
He began his entrepreneurial activities in 1962, engaging in various sectors, from engineering to the construction of machinery for the woodworking building up.
He started his political career in Seventies, he was elected Captain of the Castle (Mayor) Serravalle, President of the National Group of the Republic of San Marino at the Inter-parliamentary Union and Captain Regent (Head of State) in the years 1987-1988,2000-2001, 2006, and 2014 to 2015.
From 1978 to 2016 he was a member of the Great and General Council (Parliament) and President of the Permanent Council Commission for Foreign Affairs.
Thanks to his business experience and expertise in the field of crafts and small businesses, he worked and still works with great commitment and dedication in support of SMEs and Crafts, by promoting laws for their protection and making interpreter of their problems and potentials through his thirty years of involvement in UNAS, National Union of Craftsmen of San Marino, which is now Honorary President.
For a wider dissemination of artisan culture, then he undertook the foundation of CESA, European Center of Studies on Craft, to enhance and preserve the historical heritage of the crafts.
Even internationally, he became involved and represent the interests of this important sector.
His presence in the international context is also demonstrated by its participation in more than 30 Inter-parliamentary Conference and more than 50 missions abroad, many in China, where it enjoys great trust and respect from the Chinese authorities for their work in 30 years as President of the San Marino – China Association.
