Prof. Dr. Mosaddak Ahmed Chowdhury is a Professor of Business Administration at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Bangladesh, with more than 23 years of experience in higher education, research, institutional leadership, and international collaboration. His expertise spans SME development, entrepreneurship, international business, strategic marketing, public policy, sustainable enterprise development, and cross-border trade, with a strong commitment to advancing innovation, inclusive economic growth, and international cooperation.
Throughout his academic career, he has held several senior leadership positions, including Dean of the School of Management and Business Administration and Chairman of the Department of Business Administration at SUST. His work has consistently focused on strengthening the link between academia, government, industry, and enterprise development through evidence-based research, policy engagement, institutional collaboration, and capacity-building initiatives.
Prof. Chowdhury is the Immediate Past Founder President & Advisor of the Asia Small Business Federation (ASBF), a regional federation representing 14 Asian countries, where he provides strategic leadership in advancing regional SME development, entrepreneurship, and cross-border cooperation. During his leadership, ASBF strengthened several flagship regional initiatives, including the Business Excellence in Lady-Led Agri-Enterprises (BELLA) Awards, which recognize outstanding women entrepreneurs, and the Asian Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (AYEC), which promotes innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurial excellence among young people across Asia.
He is also the Country Director (Bangladesh) of iTrain Asia, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Apasen International Bangladesh, and an Expert Team Member of the Organization for Trade Development and Standards Cooperation (ODCCN), China. In addition, he contributes to international standardization initiatives through his participation in ISO technical committees on the Circular Economy and Second-Hand Goods, supporting the development of internationally harmonized standards for sustainable trade and economic development.
Beyond academia, Prof. Chowdhury has collaborated with government agencies, universities, chambers of commerce, professional associations, development organizations, and private sector institutions in Bangladesh and internationally to promote entrepreneurship, SME competitiveness, institutional development, skills enhancement, and sustainable economic transformation. He also serves in advisory and governance roles across education, social development, healthcare, and non-profit organizations, contributing to policy dialogue, organizational development, and international partnerships.
Having represented Bangladesh in academic, business, policy, and international forums across more than fifteen countries, Prof. Chowdhury remains committed to strengthening global partnerships, fostering innovation, supporting evidence-based policymaking, and advancing resilient, competitive, and sustainable SME ecosystems through research, international cooperation, and strategic collaboration.
