WUSME at Horasis India Meeting 2023 in Australia

WUSME Representative Sushma Morthania, Vice Chair of the Permanent Commission on Social Issues and Women’s Entrepreneurship, addressed the 15th Horasis India Meeting held in Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, over 26-27th November 2023, co-hosted by the government of South Australia and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Horasis is a visions community – together with our members we explore, define, and implement trajectories of sustainable growth. Horasis hosts annual meetings to advance solutions to the most critical challenges facing corporations today. In her speech, Ms. Morthania recalled that “Out of 63 million MSMEs in India, only 20% of these are led by women”, higlighting how women remain vastly underepresented in leadership positions. Ms. Morthania’s statement is clear expression of WUSME’s commitment to emphasize women’s contribution to economies and societies worldwide and the need to fully harness their untapped potential at all levels.
