WUSME AT COP27
Successful participation of WUSME in COP27, the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, from 14 to 18 November 2022, with an international delegation composed of President Barbara Terenzi, Mr. Michel Fossaert and Mrs. Bernadette Ouedraogo Members of the Board of Directors, to lead the SIDE EVENT on “Tackling Climate Change: remedial measures for SMEs, sustainable infrastructure and land governance” held on November 16, 2022.
WUSME took active part in the proceedings of the Conference, as Lead Organization of the official COP27 SIDE EVENT held on November 16 on the theme “Tackling Climate Change: remedial measures for SMEs, sustainable infrastructure and land governance.”
At the round table, experts and representatives of WUSME as well as of other Organizations Observer operating in different parts of the world, such as ASSOCHAM (the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India), ACCARD INITIATIVE (African Center for Climate Actions and Rural Development) from Nigeria and Initiatives of Change International, took the floor to address different interlinked issues such as climate finance, adaptation and mitigation needs, solutions and proposals for the energy transition of SMEs and communities in key sectors such as energy. agriculture, water management and land governance with particular attention to their impact on youth, women and social development.
Among the speakers, upon invitation of WUSME, also Mr. Soren Andreasen, CEO of EDFI (the European Development Finance Institutions), the network that brings together the financial institutions for development in Europe.
In addition to the SIDE EVENT, WUSME had the opportunity to welcome international delegates in an EXHIBIT space where to introduce its activities, hold meetings and explore opportunities for collaboration.
