WUSME celebrates the International Women’s Day 2025 preparing a Parallel Event at the CSW69

As part of its commitment to support Women’s SMEs, WUSME will attend and contribute to the 69th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), taking place from March 10 to 21 in New York City,  with a Written Statement on the theme “Women 2000: gender equality, development and peace for the twenty-first century” and with a Parallel Event which will be held within the framework of the Forum of the accredited NGOs. The Parallel Event will be held together with the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) and the Union of Hungarian Women (UHW) Association as Partner Organizations on the theme “STEM Empowering Women: Unlocking Access to Finance and Innovation”and will take place on Wednesday March 19, 2025 from 12:30 to 14:00 at the Church Center of the United Nations (CCUN) in New York City and focus on two key themes of the CSW69 Beijing Platform for Action 30: Women’s Education and Training and Women and the Economy. Access to finance and STEM education for women entrepreneurs are key to fostering inclusive economic growth and addressing gender inequalities globally. The panel will be aimed at highlighting the challenges and solutions available in access to finance, STEM education and women entrepreneurship globally, with the contribution of various speakers representing Partner Organizations, European Institutions, the United Nations and other entities operating in the public and private sectors. On behalf of WUSME, President Ms. Barbara Terenzi, Dr. Pauline Crawford from Las Vegas (USA), Chair of the Permanent Commission on Social Issues and Women’s Entrepreneurship, and Ms. Fran Pastore, WUSME Ambassador to Connecticut (USA), will attend part in-person and take the floor on the topics “Breaking Barriers: The Past, Present, and Future of Women’s Access to Capital” and “Mentorship – A Catalyst for Women’s Entrepreneurial Success.”
A video presentation by WUSME, made in collaboration with the Members of the Permanent Commission on Social Issues and Women’s Entrepreneurship, will be also projected to report  experiences and best practices from Members in different parts of the world.
