International Women’s Day, “Women – The protectors of values in the families and the society”

March 8th, 2019 – HUNGARY- On occasion of International Women’s Day, Margit Batthyany-Schmidt (in the picture), President and Co-Founder of the Union of Hungarian Women (UHW) and Member of the WUSME Board of Directors, addressed the Hungarian Parliament on the theme “Women – The protectors of values in the families and in the society”, highlighting how women, over the years, have had a leading role in the change in the economy and society.

The purely domestic role was joined by the non-domestic role and consequently work responsibilities have been added to the traditional ones related to family management and organization.

Two spheres generally considered clearly distinct and with different rules, which, instead, influence each other and are closely linked.

The daily commitment of women in the professional world and of household is therefore fundamental both for the family and for society.
