WUSME in Mumbai, India

On 27 June 2026, WUSME travelled to Mumbai upon the invitation of the Government of Maharashtra and through the coordination of the India SME Forum, to take part in the celebrations for International Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Day.

The visit centred on participation in the Maharashtra MSME Summit & Awards 2026, a flagship event bringing together institutions, entrepreneurs and business associations to celebrate the contribution of small and medium enterprises to the region’s economic growth and innovation.

In addition, the WUSME President took part in a round-table discussion during the event on the topic: “Empowering Women Exporters: From Packaging to Global Supply Chains”.

During the day, the WUSME delegation held high-level meetings with:

• Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra
• Mr. Vikas Pansare, IAS, Managing Director, MSSIDC (Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation)

The meetings offered an important opportunity to strengthen WUSME’s ties with Maharashtra’s institutions and to explore future avenues of cooperation in support of small and medium enterprises.
